If you haven't read the oneshot, it was a short story about a human astronaut landing on an anthro planet, and the cat girl researcher who likes him and fights for his rights.

There is now a second chapter out, with the one shot being chapter one, you can read it at the link above

thats the exact type of design i was talking about not liking though, i like when an anthros features are more pronounced and beastlike than just giving them a rhinoplasty. i think beastars did this very well in the netflix anime adaptation (see the stylized eyes and fur)

heres a panel from the manga being discussed that actually captures the concept perfectly, as these two characters are making the same face yet their expressions are entirely different. anthro characters allow for so much more emotion and personality to be displayed through a character which makes it all the more dissapointing when i hear of a new anthro character just for them to look like pulchra from zenless
Now this is news I like to hear!

Her shirt should say "KFOHA" ("Kemo Females on Hito Astronauts"). She seems like a very lovable girl, quite apart from being kot.

When I looked for information about the manga I found a discussion on one of those sites we don't talk about, but some of it was too good not to pass along.

Should've known that the speech bubbles in these memes have been somewhat mistranslated.
Overall a wholesome and uplifting story, if somewhat naive and straying into "humanity fuck yeah" territory. Hope it becomes a hit and gets proper recognition.

yeah i hope that they acknowledge the fact that if the whole "theyre better physically and mentally evolved" theory is true that must mean that the kemo were able to build a civilization close to our modern civilization despite being at a huge disadvantage. thatd be like if groups of apes on our world were advanced enough to manufacture televisions.
this could only mean that the kemo have some sort of other advantage over humans to be able to progress so relatively early on, quite possibly better social organization skills and a lower predisposition to infighting

Hopefully the author has a plan on where to take this, because for now most of the episodes follow the path of "kemo has reservations/bias against the hito → hito is put into a tough spot (imprisoned, restricted, accused) → the conflict is non-violently resolved when either the hito gets to explain himself or another kemo interjects and bails him out".
The next chapter is shaping up to be a "the hito stands silently and stoically while a bedlam of shouting animals argue on his behalf, then scribbles a trvthnvke about wars being bad even though kemos no longer wage wars and, in fact, him teasing them with technology then clamming up may actually create tensions between the states". If the result of that debacle results in a return to the status quo where he drip-feeds them tech then these past few chapters could've been spent on something more entertaining like slice of life.

You must really not be familiar with the Jap story telling, in most cases because there are exceptions. Not to be *that* guy but from experience this story will be drawn out and make zero progress, enjoy the same jokes over and over. I forseem this shit on chapter 1 and has to drop this, I don't really care if it has anthros or not the story sucks.

You are correct, my experience with those is limited.
It does nonetheless seem odd that an artist would first strike gold with the initial prompt and character design, go through the trouble of getting publisher backing and then run the story into the ground by not going anywhere with it and not utilizing miss Kot enough.
I could have seen the story going either for the basic le hecking wholesome slice of life where the two species would exchange stories about their cultures.
Or it takes a turn to where the human oversees KSP (kemo space program), which again serves as a backdrop for exploring his interaction with them, with the readers being introduced to the basics of rocketry along the way, rockets are cool. Something of the sort has already been done as the human explained a couple of concepts.
Or it pivots towards becoming a whimsical family-furriendly adventure where the human is condemned but is rescued by his allies and goes (or rather is dragged along) on a run, pursued by the secret service agents through the countrysides of the various kemo nations.

Seems more varied than watching kemo politicians have constant arguments whether humans are good or bad. The only promising recurring character they've introduced in the past few chapters has probably been Minister Ham; he had a bit of a character arc and may develop further.
