I play around with AIslop, specifically Stable Diffusion.  I have attempted to make a LoRA file for a certain focks character.

I am dissatisfied with the results, to put it mildly.  You might even recognize her. 

I am using Automatic1111 and Stable Diffusion 1.5.  I trained the LoRA file with kohya_ss.  Source images came from the places you'd expect.

I have access to SwarmUI with SDXL, Flux DEV, and 3.5 available on the back end, but I don't know whether any of the tools I have can make a LoRA for any of those.  And the quality of what I get from them is very disappointing, given how much newer they are than 1.5.

Does anyone else around here mess around with image generation?

Google's AI generates code quickly, but I get stuff like this over and over until I ragequit.  I know, I'm lazy.  I know, I should find a college somewhere and take courses to learn SCAD, or OpenCAD, or whatever, to do this myself.  Sometimes I think it'd be faster.

I can see the part in my head.  I have the dimensions.  I have already drawn cross sections and profiles in Paint, or at least a Linux clone of Paint.  I know exactly what I want it to look like.  I keep typing this stuff in and copying and pasting my diagrams. The AI keeps going "hurr durr ner ner ner ner, we goin' bowlin'," beating on the buttons with its virtual dick, and puking out nonsense like this.

All of this is pretty pointless, really.  I'm not a machinist.  I don't know any machinists.  Around here there are machine shops but nobody will return your calls if it isn't about a contract to make fifty million widgets for General Motors.  All I'd be able to do would be to rotate the 3D rendering on the screen and admire my own cleverness.

Plastic is unsuited for this.  It would need to be metal.  If I could get a usable SCAD file that describes it, there are tools that would export it as a .step file for CNC machining.  Nobody around here has time for one-offs for hobbyists, though.

I wish I could help more but I have zero familiarity with SCAD. I've worked with Rhino before, though, and looking at the code in the lefthand side of your image, it looks like you're just defining extrusions, voids, curves, etc. It doesn't look terribly complicated. Can't you just study what the AI is outputting and amend it yourself? Are there really no good tutorials on YouTube on the language? Worst case scenario, I'd study the official standard.
Why aren't you trying ChatGPT directly? Is it because of the account registration? This seems like something it could do easily. Though I suppose I don't think any AIs currently are good at complex spatial understanding. If I were doing this, I'd break it down into smaller parts which I can reasonably expect ChatGPT to handle just fine. For example: "Write SCAD code that models a rectangular prism of XYZ dimensions, then extrude a cylinder of ZYX dimensions voiding it down the center, etc." then I'd fix it up manually. idk.

Well into four figures for used desktop hobbyist stuff, if you are talking about something that can do work in metal and not just wood and plastic.

I am unwilling to make accounts and doxx myself to use "free" stuff.  There is a no-registration "talk to GPT" tool in more current versions of Firefox.  There was briefly a no-login, no-registration version, but it was pretty gimped and I frequently caught it giving outright false information.  Now everything is "login to continue," "choose a payment plan," etc.  And no, we're not going there.

Maybe I'm too old to learn this stuff.  I don't understand what I'm reading.  I look at it and I see the word "translate" and vast blobs of what I think must be variables, and I am utterly unable to figure out from looking at it what does what, despite the comment lines the AI has added.  I can only look at the 3D model it generates and shake my head.  Screenshot, paste to AI, say "this is wrong," AI is very unctuously and creepily apologetic, generates more stuff that's even worse, lather, rinse, repeat until I have to turn off the computer and go touch grass.

I think most people gauge whther somones a good or bad person by how much theyve talked to or know about that persons life, unless youve done something horrible to them theyl think youre bad if they havent talked to you much or good if you have talked to them much, its sorta like that trope of "if you get to know people youl find nobody is truly evil" thats BS btw its not that that person isint evil its just that you feel emotional about them because you know more of their story
