I'm pleased to see some of my 'colleagues' here from Trash and Losercity.
But you don't need to be a terminally online furry addict to understand what happened at Anboo.

You only need to know this: there are essentially two things that happen inside a FURRY IMAGEBOARD. The RISQUENESS which generates ENGAGEMENT either goes up, or it goes down. That's it.

All the MODS do is maintain balance. SUGGESTIVE imagery. As SUGGESTIVE materials are posted and exchanged, RISQUENESS goes up.

 But if you don't balance the RISQUENESS, it never stops rising. So... BOARD RULES. They reduce RISQUENESS like brakes on a car.

 But there's a third factor to consider: SPOILER TAGS. SPOILER TAGS take heat out of the system. As it does, it turns to RULECUCKERY, or what we call a "LAME."

 On an imageboard of the type used at Anboo, there's something called a "POSITIVE LAMENESS COEFFICIENT." What does that mean? It means that the more RULECUCKERY present within the system, the higher the RISQUENESS, which means more resistance, which means more lame, which means... 
It would appear we have a vicious cycle on our hands.

 And we would, were it not for this: the NEGATIVE GOON COEFFICIENT. When SUGGESTIVE materials approach levels of actual PORN, they get less RISQUE , so... fuel increases RISQUENESS. BOARD RULES and SPOILER TAGS reduce it. RULECUCKERY increases it, and the rise in goon levels reduces it. 
This is the invisible dance that powers our entire lives without 3DPD. And it is beautiful when things are normal.

 As SUGGESTIVE material is posted to produce ENGAGEMENT, it summons a new element, PURRGEM. PURRGEM reduces RISQUENESS. This is the poison that the guy who got b& last year for speaking up mentioned. When the board is running at full power, it drowns the PURRGEM out before it can cause a problem. But because of the low posting activity, Anboo's /anthro/ has been held at half ENGAGEMENT for ten weeks. The PURRGEM did not get drowned out. It built up, poisoning the MOD TEAM. We're starting to lose balance.

 At 28 minutes past midnight, the board is now primed to slow down for the night. And yet, in less than an hour, it will cause DRAMA. If you can't understand how a stalled FURRY IMAGEBOARD could lead to DRAMA, I don't blame you. 
After all, you're not the ones who do it for free. But as it turned out, the men who do didn't understand it either.
