Do you hide your interests (in this case anthros) from your friends and family? If so, then why? And if you don't, what do they think?

Yes because it's cringe and I'm not brave enough to be cringe and free

no but I don't show it either. i really don't care either way, my mind has one goal and that's getting my fuzzy wife
>>110469 (OP)
no because im quite open about the fact i want to be a cartoonist
id never tell them i wish i could marry one though

I told my best friends recently and they reacted about how I'd expect, thought it was mildly amusing/interesting and just moved on. I've told them much weirder shit before so this is comparatively not a big deal
Wouldn't ever tell my family, my online life is compartmentalized and not to be mixed with that version of myself

As long as you don't draw porn or weird fetish garbage most normies are not going to care if you like anthros or not. It's only weird sharty puriteens that are going to think that you are a degen just for drawing funny cartoon animals. My mom likes my characters, especially Kiki

idk. my mom hates it, that's why I bought a house

I can corroborate this. Normal people view furries as weird people who dress up as animals, not an art scene. You will never be accused of being a furry by your close ones just from drawing furry art.

My parents just think it's anime and my friends don't think anything of it as it's all SFW. It's entirely innocent from an outsider's view.

this is exactly what i mean
well said
I hide all my interests from everyone and wear probably three different proverbial masks based on who I'm dealing with. Unless I'm explicitly asked about something, I don't say anything. All the people I interact with are satisfactorily compartmentalized from each other and I intend for it to remain that way for at least a while longer.

I have an unhealthy habit of pressing "Reply" instead of "Open" and it puts the OP's post№ into the text field (an affront to nature tbqh).
Combined with multitasking and wandering attention span it occasionally leads to blunders such as this.

i dont have friends anymore and my family would just make fun of me if they knew
it's getting hard to hide though. people will occasionally ask me what i do for fun or what i did during some weekend and there's nothing that i can tell them because all i do is work, doomscroll, draw, or sleep
This particular interest will never come up naturally during conversation.

Bold of you to assume I have friends or family.
