How do you run a non gooner site without it purity spiriling
I don't know why are you asking me

You don't.

Don't cater to types who tend to be puritans

What traits do those people possess and how does one avoid them?

just ban the gooners if they consistently post goonbait even after being warned

Who defined what is a "gooner" and where should a line be drawn?

It's the magic word i call you when i don't like you and/or the things you post

Would you agree that the butt spammer on /b/ (now on /anthro/) is a gooner?
Replies: >>111864

It feels like attention grabbing to me more than gooning, but only a gooner would try to grab attention that way so yes they may be.
>>111858
Tough to say, I tend to see younger people be more puritan for whatever reason (maybe because they see it as counter culture to the porn focused world). Could be a case where you just need to gatekeep. I guess the issue is that it'd be hard to keep "gooners" away because they're so mindfucked they can get off to anything. Perhaps you just leave it open ended and deal with overtly gooner posts on a case by case basis. It's tough because in general the people on the site are males interested in anthro females, which has an inherently sexual reason behind it, so the males appreciate the female form and it's sort of walking the line to try and appreciate the female form while not just devolving into softcore pornography. Not sure how the Greek sculptors did it but maybe their society just wasn't as focused on sex. I think it's possible just difficult

People aren’t perfect, just accept that and stick to the rules. I’d say have site values of “follow the rules” yet also “horny can be funny” the dial will always be turning to horny instead of purity but it’s capped to not go past a certain point.

On that note I have a pseudo idea that might work, more of an experiment really. If we work under the assumption that people that are exceptionally pornbrained are less likely to be "creators" then it'd be as simple as allowing more lewd content if it's original and putting a hard ban on anything skimpy if it's not made by someone on the site. Would dissuade people just interested in porn from just reposting all that junk while the people who do create would get some leniency (to do things like artistic nudity or walking the line on softcore, but still hard capping them from making actual porn). Then of course you'd just need to make it clear that these are guidelines, because if there's one thing I've learned from online communities there are groups of people who loooove to abuse rules on technicalities, saying "well technically this isn't against the rules" or trying to find loopholes to let them post stuff. Being able to confidently shut people like that down and not feel bad is helpful
>>111867
And what I mean by guidelines is that they aren't hard rules, just principles to guide the culture of the site. So if someone decides to start trying to draw porn just for the sake of getting around the rule but they make it just barely enough to be allowed, using the knowledge that they are actively trying to sidestep the rule to shut them down, while on the flipside not just straight up deleting bikini pics because "that's against the rools"
I don't know if it would work but it would be interesting to see the results. All speculation and guesswork since I have no experience

>How do you run a non gooner site
The easiest way would be to pick a topic with no aspect of "male" or "female", like underwater basket weaving, instead of furries, which are overwhelmingly a sexual topic.
>>111858
>traits
Intolerance for imperfection and emotional instability, but this applies to extremists in general.
Bending the rules should be allowed, to an extent, to filter out weak faggots so that you don't create a daycare for snowflakes.
>>111867
>>111868
Besides the difficulty of telling whether or not a creation is original when unannounced, I believe the assumption is unfounded. People need a reason to create content for free, and self-gratification through sexual content just happens to be the easiest way as it is a reward in itself. Without this, the alternative reward is attention from strangers, but unless you are a slave to the site's algorithm, this is incredibly difficult to come by and usually comes down to selling your personality as an entertainer rather than receiving attention from whatever you have created.
>Show me the incentive and I will show you the outcome
tl;dr people draw sexual content to reward themselves. Without this reward, there is hardly motivation to draw for free (infinite supply/competition and minimal demand/attention, making it a bad business model).

Well, this site should be a good case example for anyone interested. It's not perfect, but for any successors or opportunistic 'foos there has to be something to learn from its history

Ask me how I know faggot. While your post sounds rational, the one flaw is your speaking out of your ass. I would not listen to a homeless dude about being rich.

It's the other way around actually, people draw regular stuff for themselves or for validation from their peers and mostly draw porn for patreon bucks

I don't know. Shouldn't you provide the definition given that you asked the question?
Anyways, the answer's probably however this website managed to pull it off.

Search up Kit Bodega right now on X (formerly Twitter) and tell me what people care about.
>>111875
Imageboard artists, at least on 4chan, are perhaps the best example of drawing solely for self-gratification. There is no Patreon if they are fully anonymous, and instead, it's daily artworks driven by nothing other than horniness.

And yet I never heard or cared about her, watching the show it was extremely disappointing. Yes, they got their attention through industry plants etc. but they aren't gonna be remembered for anything. They deliberately chose to compromise quality and limit their own creative work for short term gains. If instead they spent their lives working to perfect their craft, their livelihood and self worth because they are professional artists, instead of wasting time satisfying lowest common denominators on Twitter they could have made something epic. Too late though.

I'm not really allowed to have an opinion on this, I just believe that you should be honest with yourself and do what you really want to do. Some people really want to draw feetpiks and that's okay, but I doubt any one wants to draw slop all day but it was their own choice and fault. You reap what you sow. I try to live by that everyday, I make a choice to play video games instead of learning something new today. It's okay to make that choice to spend time with friends, but it doesn't move me further in my life mission.
Just don’t go too hard on porn, the only porn that is allowed is softcore (that means exposed genitals and other hardcore shit isn’t allowed). This website relies on non-porn and softcore porn

Why do you feel the need to post your shit on /anthro/ when you already have a containment board for that? You're constantly trying to push the rules by posting the most borderline slop possible.
