I gave up on 4chins many months back. It isn't salvageable. The jannies and mods have always given every impression of despising the userbase. WT Snacks and SovietRussia and Coda hated 4chan and all its users, and m00t recruited them in 2004. That's who m00t put in charge of running the site, writing and patching the back-end code (kek), and recruiting mods and jannies. Then when the mods and jannies got doxxed and quit, Hiroshimoot hired a gaggle of jeets to run stuff. Snacks and his clique were essentially Reddit mods before Reddit existed. They hated you for being a "poltard" and "anime faggot." The jeets hate you for being a firanji. Both groups are happy to watch spammers flood threads with guro, then ban people for reporting the spam.

Occasionally it could be fine for a thread or two. Then fakeburz would remember he has a hateboner for 4chan and /trash/ in general and /hmofa/ and /scaly/ in particular, and set up a bot to flood both threads with guro. If you complaned to the mods, they'd ban you for "false reporting."
I had a lot of fun in /hmofa/ but seeing the thread get flooded to page ten over and over by one asshole with a big text document full of quotes from some zero-effort edgelord Morrowind mod he'd copy and paste, plus death threats, plus a hard drive full of guro images, ISIS decapitation videos, etc., got old. Reporting the spammer only to receive a "ur b& for false reporting, lol" message got old even faster.
It is a pity. I would have liked to be able to interact with the content creators, but I'm certainly not joining a Discord or making a Furaffinity account for that.
