yes but only if your fairly secure in life before you commit.
to me this includes a trusted partner, a stable income and living situation, and at least some social connections to help acclimate them to other people. best case scenario being other parents that you can help each other out.
im not anywhere near being a parent in life yet but these are the requirements i have for myself because i believe the world would be better if more people were consciences about choices like this.

in terms of too many kids, i dont have the experience to know how many is too many but i think the amount of free time you can bond with each one should determine your upper limit. IMO at least more than one is a good idea so they can learn to socialize with each other early in life and then have someone to rely on and relate to later.

...I have no idea if this is remotely relevant, I've just been hearing this from a lot of old relatives/family friends recently because I'm nearing 30 and not yet married.
