I set up syncthing to synchronize select directories between my PC and newly resurrected laptop. It annoys me a little, though, that you cannot synchronize individual files and must segregate what you wish to synchronize into dedicated directories. Is there a more proper way to do this? Rsync? NFS?
Oh. It did break a Kdenlive project, though. Fun. Albeit, it doesn't really seem to be syncthing's fault.
Luckily, it still works just fine on the laptop, but for whatever reason-- despite the files being identical-- the project profile has been reset to default on my PC, from 4 FPS to 25 FPS, shifting everything all over the place. I would expect that to be embedded in the main project file but apparently it's actually somewhere in Kdenlive's cache (???) which I obviously did not include in the synchronization. However, this assessment also appears to be incorrect and basically I'm an retard, I guess. I'm looking into it right now.

I do like the idea of my system being perfectly trimmed and tailored to my needs and computers and other devices running the way they're "supposed" to: cleanly. At the same time... I don't think I really have the... time. The biggest thing I hope for now, frankly, is that my using Ubuntu doesn't get in the way of this for others the same way normaller giraffes granting Windows the largest userbase has been a disaster for computing more generally.
When I first switched from Windows to Linux, I used some literal who distro called Zorin for a while before finally jumping to stock Ubuntu. My plan was to then jump to Debian (I didn't realize what a useless step this would've been at the time) before moving on to Arch and ultimately ascending to computer godhood with Gentoo. Maybe I still will-- slowly-- God willing, if time permits, and all that shite.
