I've been thinking about how species and race work in this universe especially since it's both low fantasy (set in an alternate copy of IRL Earth, presumably with a similar geopolitical history) and coinhabited by humans and anthros. Does this imply that Great Britain is entirely composed of collies (or they're at least it's native population)? Or do human Anglos continue to exist in this universe? Or have you not given that much thought (not that there's anything wrong with that if the story's scope doesn't extend that far)?
I'm guessing some nations are almost entirely pure both species(ally?) and racially, while others are mutted to fluff and back like the US. And then others are somewhere in between (mixed racially only, but not really across species lines). I also imagine there are some entirely fictional nations mixed in with the real-world ones? That also makes me wonder-- I know you disapprove of it-- but is interspecies breeding nonetheless possible in this universe? I'm thinking maybe India is like the HMOFA capital of the world in this setting and you can just fill it up with all sorts of horrid mutt abominations. idk. fef.

Yooo Mike! This nyagga just gave me an Einstein-class idea. What if India is also the HVAC technician capital of this alternate universe. It just makes too much sense. Think about it. Trust.
My little gay short story is in the proofreading phase now btw if that even matters lest you think I just up and gave up on it

sorry about the hiatus. i wanted to take a break, but it also looks like i might be busy too now, so sorry if updates come out slower. fml
>>125214
i'm undecided on why anthros exist in this story, i may not ever get around to answering it. i've already come up with a lot of lore that will not fit into how short i want to make this comic

nah mike it's chill trust cop a break we don't deserve anything good in life trust trust 🫰 we're worms 😺
what you should do is announce when the next panel's dropping then just like not post it and make up increasingly ridiculous bs excuses i think that would be kind of funny
>i'm undecided on why anthros exist in this story, i may not ever get around to answering it.
That's fine. I think it's a problem most serious furry media runs into-- justifying the usage of anthros as opposed to just telling a story with human characters when the latter would work just as well. Most of the time it just breaks down into being used as a safe allegory for race alla Zootopia, I feel. I suppose you could take this question all the way back to those 19th century political cartoons this all originally started from. Why didn't those cartoonists just use humans to depict nationalities? I don't know. It's probably some kind of manifestation of veiled misanthropy, a sort of lamenting subtext beneath it all. Whatever. I'm not gonna shit up your thread with a mulletjak-tier essay. geg. sorry.
Like I said, as long as the scope of the story doesn't reach that far, leaving it unanswered is perfectly acceptable, I'd argue. It probably lends the universe an air of mystery, even.
>oh shit lemmie check my email then
About the story, you mean? You said I could just publish it immediately so I'm doing the proofreading myself since I don't think I know anyone I can harass with reading my dense drivel. I did reply to you with an idea for a commissioned illustration for the story. I thought you'd seen it and just found me too annoying to even bother responding to, which made me laugh, but that's also chill. I actually think the story might work better without it.
k. that's enough of me. sorry. good luck and best wishes and all that other shite! 🤗

Does he really know if things will get better doe? I think it would be better if "will" was italicized since it would emphasis his confidence in that assertion. Just an incredibly small nitpick though.

My interpretation is that he has orders to rescue her and bring her in alive, and he is doing his best to work around her current (understandable) emotional state. He might possibly have an ulterior motive in the sense that he's not in any position to make that kind of personal promise to her. But he can't just leave her there in the snow, either, nor can he pick her up and carry her the rest of the way back to his base of operations. The fact that he's doing this kind of thing solo, without even a spotter, makes me think that he's working for an organization that doesn't have much in the way of resources. A "proper" organization (one with nation-state funding, whether or not the people at the sharp end are aware of it) would have had him and a dozen more guys do a HALO insertion at 2am and come tiptoeing in with thermal night vision goggles and suppressed MP5s. If she had become uncooperative, they'd have had a medic along who could sedate her, then bundle her into the chopper when it showed up fifteen minutes later.

well... that's basically it for act 1. i'll be honest, i am starting to lose motivation, but then again i've been drawing around 50 panels of traumaslop, so i might be more motivated for the next part of the story. many of you have made some pretty great art and stories recently, so i feel obligated to finish this, though i have my doubts on the quality of this comic and its story

It's not traumaslop, it's traumakino. The only way I can be disappointed is if this work doesn't further my manic depression. Take all the breaks you need tho. I know you want to go back to the usual poop and nyaggers dying drawings which is chill trust (idk why i started appending trust to everything I don't talk like this irl trust).
This has been quality, Mike. We will support you through and through. I'm sure Averif(l)ag here >>125998 and I can cook up a Marvel-type capeshit inspirational motivational speech for you if you need that. trust.
This also gives me-- or anyone else who wants to give it a shot-- time to mess around with audio, if you still don't mind.
Okay, take care, volk ✌️
