People like to pretend hmofa is special or hurts differently, and don't tell them this; but it's ultimately a 4chan problem.
Long-running generals have these Anons who browse them far too often, and become overly attached, to the point their behavior can resemble schizophrenia.  I'm not even exaggerating.
They'll even warp narratives and blow things so far out of proportions that it makes it difficult to tell if everything is true or everything is a lie.
I wonder if this site will one day get popular and develop a similar defense mechanism.
I digress though, the real reason I don't really use this place is because as stated previously I'm more of an NSFW artist. I lurk though, stick my ugly unwanted head in once a month, maybe twice.  Drew that Blaveri pic and thought today "wouldn't it be funny if I posted that?"
But I've let this place distract me for too long already.

honestly, at this point i think /hmofa/ should be an alt-chan of its own. they have nothing to gain from being in 4chan, that place's a sinking ship and the jannies don't actually do anything about thread detractors at all. in fact, evidence is that they even let them shit up threads on purpose. 
they'd have a lot more to benefit from having their standalone site.

Every time anyone has ever gone there and brought up this place, even just in the context of a discussion of bunkers in which to wait out the next outage, the response is an explosion of inarticulate Tourette's Syndrome screams and REEEEing.  Even the people in the ghost threads at desuarchive during the outage after the big hack were doing it.  I was astounded by the level of visceral hatred on display and gave up on them.

For my part I am perfectly content to be in an imageboard that has fuzzy lady content, in which bad actors are swiftly dealt with and there is no material permitted depicting characters appearing to be underage.  I sometimes think it would be nice if this place had more traffic, but that's not my choice to make.

i think the frotting of mouths comes mostly from the unfortunate sh*rty connection the old site used to have. well, it's to be expected, but the transition to the .boo domain event should've been an obvious clue about the change of direction.
