wdym to me? I thought this is being objective. If everyone has their own definition, this is going to be a mess and we will be going in circles.
Because, yeah, "you liked that furry thing means you're furry" sound simple and right. Or is it? How much furry things did they like and for how long? And what are "furry things"? Media? Activities? Philosophy?? Nigger, this is very heavily depends on context.
Let's make a couple of extreme cases. First we have Joe #1 who went on some furcon. Is he a furry? He was with his neurodivergent friend Doe who asked to make him a company. He engaged in action, even got aids almost, but in the end Joe said, that it was mid and not interesting, though if Doe wants Joe to accompany Doe again, then Joe'll go, because friendship is magic. Is Joe a furry??
Second we have Joe #2 who have his walls covered with furry art and who goons to furries every single day. Is he a furry? This Joe is a neet antisocial freak. He doesn't talk to anyone irl or on the internet. 1000 twitter goons followed, but doesn't even leave a comment anywhere. Joe isn't interested in anything except collecting goons & consuming media without any care about the subject matter besides his own aesthetic satisfaction and fulfillment of basic needs. Every day. Silently, in his dark dark room... Wageslave too. And plays osu or touhou or something like that. Is Joe a furry??
If it's all about how you're being called, i.e. subjective judgement, then it's not true and there isn't any absolute border. Maybe we are missing something? Yeah we fucking are. The word "fandom". It is a furry fandom. It's not an ethereal group of "furries". It's a fan dom. The dome of fans. Are you in the dome of faggot fans? Or you're outside of it? It's a group of joes who are in the "furry fandom". If a joe leaves this dome he's becoming just a joe - he's outside of the dome.
>"A fandom is a subculture composed of fans characterized by a feeling of camaraderie with others who share a common interest. Fans typically are interested in even minor details of the objects of their fandom and spend a significant portion of their time and energy involved with their interest, often as a part of a social network with particular practices, differentiating fandom-affiliated people from those with only a casual interest."
Also not everything about anthropomorphic animals is furry fandom, but all the furry fandom is about anthropomorphic animals. You just don't want to put an effort into analyzing the situation and context. I'm very very annoyed by that and it made me angry. I even used the n-word, sorry.
