Welcome to anthro.boo. This is the new thread to discuss website meta affairs. Remember to have fun and to not take things personally.

Asset Guide
- Banners are 3:1 ratio with minimum 300x100 PNGs, if your banner is larger than 300x100 upload the original so we can correctly scale it down
- Flags are 26x18 pixel PNGs
- Emojis are 32x32 transparent PNGs, if it is not pixel art upload the original image so that we can correctly scale it down

Probably a caca during the setup. My bad.
few things I've noticed

posts no longer have the "x minutes ago" for time, which was pretty helpful. having a toggle of some sort would be nice if you want the current to be default

hovering over a post number reply does not preview the post, helpful for keeping track of a conversation without needing to scroll up or click and get moved up the page

the reply window is no longer floating, seems stuck in the top right corner
>>115447

I'm not a big fan. It results in uninformed users needlessly giving up a small bit of privacy (however trivial it might be), and if it's ever somehow desirable for a bad actor to fake it, it's not terribly difficult for them to do so.
Also, I think instead of posting with no flag at all, it would be fun if the default option was just a random flag. Or maybe just something stupid, idk.

I worry that making the Anon flag (or something similar, like the fake geo flags) default would just lead to a sea of people all using the same flag.

My heart. I can't take it.

Also, I agree. No good will come of this. If anyone here is contemplating such actions I must ask you to reconsider. It's dickish behavior and I want to believe this little community is better than that.

Of course it's also possible that someone there is just shit-stirring for its own sake. Back when /cfa/ was a thing there appeared to be one single very determined, or maybe just very bored, individual who would spam both threads, then respond to his own spam with variations on "Hey! Those assholes at $OTHER_PLACE are fucking with us! Let's get 'em!" Periodically a mod would briefly pull his thumb out of his ass long enough to ban him, and all his posts in both threads, and all the spam the "raiders" had supposedly posted, would get wiped. Simultaneously. For all I know he's still at it. Maybe someone there is bored and trying to get us raided. I dno, lol.

BLUF: Country flags should stay as an option, but no-flag should be the default

I agree with >>115851
>It results in uninformed users needlessly giving up a small bit of privacy
I think this is an important point and is my main gripe with geo flags. It should be up to the user what information he chooses to divulge, and it may not be immediately clear to a nufur that he is displaying his country due to the lack of an icon next to the dropdown menu, which is present for all other flags.

Additionally, I was fond of when we were able to post with no flag.

Perhaps no-flag should be the default once more, with all current flags + geo flags still available as options in the drop-down menu when posting.

This would prevent the issue >>115954 presents,

We're a small site, fragmenting it into many different boards isn't a good idea as they may end up unused to some degree. Even 4chan struggles with this.
If you want to make a politics post, go ahead. But make sure you attach an anthro pic to it.
Just do it like /v/ does all the time - Bait picture, irrelevant time wasting question. If you really don't want to post anthros, go to >>>/b/ instead.
Besides, we are not censoring any speech unless if it's black anthro demagogy (you VILL be put in ze guillotine for this).

I actually agree with purrgem (God help me). Admins/site owners are the only namegiraffes I like (a la moot). And you're already singled out as the admin, so IMO you might as well have a name attached.
>>118120
If you introduce a board that is based on an already existing political echochamber it will only attract and reassure hobbyless basement dwellers who care more about race wars than about anthros. 4chan's /pol/ ended up being a proven terrorist breeding ground that made the whole site an observation target for the feddies.

Even the former owner didnt want that to happen, and always assumed that actual extremists could attempt to secure themselves an unobserved meeting point here.

Not really. Just following what's written on the rules page should be enough. The only caveats i can think of are big bare butts , these should fall under questionable content rather than safe so don't approve. Also Soyjaks. They're allowed as long as if they're not coal (the post in question is funny) but that jurisdiction is completely up to the jannies.

I'm not aware of any writ having been issued to him to cease this, so banning him so suddenly seems entirely unjustified and excessive when a simple warning and deletion would've done.

Well, he does consistently post non-anthro shit on /anthro/ so I suppose it's deserved and I certainly won't miss him. But, at the same time, if we're being strict with the rules (which I think we should strive to): there is technically no rule against off-topic posts.
To the lackeyposter's credit, he contains his non-anthro shite to /b/, at least, and has not technically broken anything listed under Rule 2.
I wouldn't miss either, but I can see why one was banned and not the other. Assuming that's even what happened to begin with.

That's a reply. There are plenty of non-anthro posts on /anthro/ as replies (eg. reaction images). I would argue it breaks Rule 2, however, which reads "You will not post NSFW content, including but not limited to..." since I'd certainly not like to be caught watching that in a typical work environment. There are two problems, though: (1) "NSFW" is poorly defined and (2) that part of the rule isn't really enforced at all to begin with. Those two krauts, for example, frequently make grotesque posts (which are anthros, at least) which I'd also categorize as NSFW and thus as rulebreaking, but nobody's enforcing that.
>Doing a months-long spamming campaign should be a bannable offense
I agree with you, but I'm just pointing out that, as they stand, technically no rules were violated... which is to say that they should probably be amended.
