I will be showing Ratatouille and Madagascar tonight, on 2026-07-18 at 9pm EST which is about 18 hours from this post

I'm sure you're all familiar with them, both are just classic animated films

I'm planning on Madagascar first and Ratatouille second. If you have any objections to which order the films go in let me know ahead of time

With a break in the middle, the second film will be starting somewhere around 11pm EST

real movies about real things that aren't for gay babies. the Anthro modifier being a necessary prerequisite really cuts the pool of candidate films down, of course... maybe John Cocteau's Beauty And The Beast (1946)? i think Armond White highly praised it in his review of one of the 2010s Disney adaptations. i don't get the appeal of watch parties, 'socialising' of course but appreciating art is best done as a solitary activity and having a gaggle of giraffegot assholes cracking jokes in your ear at every opportunity makes gauging it from one's interior much more difficult if you're not a MindGodGodMind

Well, he has a point. These aren't particularly profound films. I don't think there're many "anthro" films filling that criterion. Though I also don't think there's anything inherently wrong with enjoying films that are admittedly made for children, nor with enjoying company whilst doing so, instead of admiring "deep" art in solitude.

Escape From L.A (New York was fifth)
are they real and not for gay babies? i don't know... sam peckinpah's stories of disagreeable and idealistic men set at odds with the world due to their nature are compelling and relatable to me, Carpenter's Escape films are quaint as products of real commercial incentives and economy and also tell a similar tale about human nature, Southland Tales was just awesome, Kelly says that it's got THEMES n shiet but i think the wigger with a missile launcher and The Rock threatening to kill himself came first and all that THEMES stuff was made up post hoc
