Ive been on and off yugioh for like a decade, I've gotten sick of moderns and just play edison format online occasionally these days. Played some Pokemon TCG as well but it's just not as good.

Yeah, modern YGO is pretty annoying with all the obnoxious ways meta decks play, at least IMO. I couldn't stand Master Duel when Tenpais were being played because it just felt like you got punished for just playing against them in general. I mostly just play whatever fun decks pique my interest at the time I start playing again, my favorite for a while has been Gate Guardians because my decrepit ass likes seeing ancient unplayable monsters get good enough support to be sorta viable.

I always wanted to try that, how do you even get into that if you're playing online? I'm assuming there's communities in the old pre-master duel simulators?

I found out a couple mornings ago that they randomly gave Fairy Tails support, kind of makes me want to get back into the game and craft that deck because Snow has always been one of my favorite monster designs and this new one is a cutie

I think the biggest community for edison format is on dueling book, the website is super old and its played manually. It's kind of ass but its the best way to play older formats until konami gives us a good way to do so in masterduel.

Magic the gathering has multiple open source clients with automatic rules enforcement (xmage and forge off the top of my head - wouldn't be surprised if there's more). Why don't yugibros just do that instead of begging the corpo to do it?

There are multiple fan made automatic sims for yugioh but for whatever reason they are less popular than dueling book.
