I decided to try out Krita yesterday. Hitherto, I'd been using GIMP for "drawing" and was never really content with the brushes. Maybe that's because that's not the point of GIMP as it turns out (yes, I am retarded). This was a far more enjoyable experience. I actually had fun with the process! Which is funny given how I felt just a few days ago: I am-- or am not anymore, I suppose-- in the perhaps not so unusual position where I simultaneously (1) enjoy the end result of drawing, (2) do not enjoy drawing itself, and (3) cannot draw well anyways. I thought "even if I were magically capable of drawing, I wouldn't enjoy the process and would much rather be able to snap my fingers and conjure up the image directly from my imagination". This contrasts with my feelings towards, say, music or writing, where I tend to have fun even if my skills are lacking. I'm not so sure where to sudden inspiration came from, but there are a few more things I'd like to experiment with, so hopefully it does not depart too soon.
This particular pose idea has been in my mind for a while, and I figured I'd attempt to execute it here. My main focus was on the lineart and body, not so much on the face or head or elsewhere, which probably shows. As with the rest of the shite I've made, this is traced, not freehanded. Still not sure if I want to work on that-- posing is kind of fun. If anything, though, it may be advantageous to learn how to freehand the head and face eventually since I can't always find the angle I'm looking for in wildlife photography. I'd also like to attempt a 'toonier style again. But one thing at a time.

Maybe I'll return to it later and flesh out the head and background properly when I get there.
