I hope you enjoy your books 'gem :) May I recommend the Redwall series by Brian Jacques? A recent post reminded me of its existence, and I remember liking it when I was younger--plus it fits your criteria.

Recently I began reading Dune by Frank Herbert, it isn't /anthro/ at all to my knowledge, but I am enjoying it nonetheless!

HMOFA fic where anon (not his name but you get what i mean) lives on an embassy of an alien planet inhabited by blue lizard people. During his stay anon ended up in a relationship with one of the locals but the issue is these aliens secrete a deadly neurotoxin that makes cohabitation and especially touch deadly for humans. There’s countermeasures but anon and the other humans are forced to wear a hazmat suit around the aliens. I like this story it’s ~4000 words and extremely cute along with having bits of worldbuilding for how humans cope with life on this planet. Only thing it needs is more entry’s in the series but it doesn’t look like any is coming with this story busing published February this year.
Checked out the authors pfp and he has another short story doe this one’s real short at about ~2000 words.

https://archiveofourown.org/works/66267016

Story follows anon and a band on 11 other mercenaries trying to make it to the next town before a blizzard hits. In the process they hire a fox guide to lead them there but the next day they discover the guide disappeared in the middle of the night. In true Fox fashion it’s discovered this was a ploy to get with the anon who was into her because she knew he’d look for her and lead the other 11 mercenaries to their deaths by giving them the wrong directions because she didn’t like them. I hope the anon is happy to get turned into a bone broth or some shit. Despite the obvious I am somewhat a sucker for characters like the fox in this story I find the lengths and schemes they do just for love rather charming and it makes my little heart flutter. Story does have some logical jumps and needs a bit more exposition. 6/10

I have been meaning to read the book of the new sun but I get so lazy with reading. It's annoying because I can read a whole book in a day if I just have the will to do it.

If you enjoy sci-fi, there's a series I talked about with another boo here when we played risk of rain 2, which is The Culture series by Iain M. Banks. I love it. I went through the audiobooks for them which isn't as good as reading but it was easier for me so I could actually get it done. Of the mainline culture series books the only one I haven't gone through is Inversions. My favorite of the series is Use of Weapons. I'd start with Consider Phlebas if you do go through it, though I think a lot of people start with the second book Player of Games, since Consider Phlebas is unique in introducing the titular Culture as a background force rather than as a focus point like the other books. It's an interesting introduction to the series, though a lot of the cooler sci-fi stuff doesn't start happening until book 2. Only a few of the books are really chronological so it can be kind of read out of order.

HMOFA fic where the governments of the world have collapsed and due to the apocalypse a human falls out of the sky right into a hermit gators lap in the Everglades.
I personally thought it was a sweet story with a bit of mystery about the collapse of society and Vics (the humans) background and trauma. The story also actually has the relationship start halfway through instead of waiting until the last minute which is appreciated. For critique there were some scenes I felt didn’t serve any purpose and I noticed some grammatical and spelling errors but it’s mostly clean.

I mostly do audiobooks because it's a good alternative to listening to the same music playlists over and over again when I'm driving. I mostly listen to Star Wars ones, I am re-listening to I Jedi for the 3rd time and I finished the Hand of Thrawn Duology and Survivor's Quest a few weeks ago. I think once I'm finished with my re-listen I'll check out some of my Halo or 40k audiobooks since I've neglected those. I've also heard that Gundam has some novelizations but I kind of doubt those would have audiobooks, at least translated into english.

I feel the worst part about a love triangle is your left with a loser you gotta do something with so instead of having two characters you could root for you have one be the objectively wrong choice and to tie up the losers character with them using their character growth to pursue a healthier relationship with another character.

Damn. I like almost understood everything you said without the translator.
Carmack likened the game's plot to that of a porn movie, nevertheless meanyang that there is a plot, even if crude and even if the player may opt to ignore it. Though you are correct that the kind of people that care about the game's lore would likely have cared for it even without those blurbs, which seems to be what you're implying. The gameplay does indeed do the heavy lifting there, though one shouldn't ignore the ambient storytelling the progression of the levels themselves tell. There is enough intrigue in that alone to draw nerds into caring about the lore, even if you reduced Doom into a series of drawings or paintings, essentially.
What were we talking about? Oh, yeah: but notice that even if you did that, you'd still have some sort of material being used to draw attention to the lore as opposed to said lore existing in a vacuum. However, I'm sure-- especially nowadays-- that someone'd inevitably give their attention even to lore unattached to any media, like Purrgem's. But don't expect something like that to ever garner the same degree of attention.

Neat short story about a mad scientist with a God complex that made abominations of nature. Despite what I’d been told, it does not feature anthros, since it’s creatures are actually animals molded to look human; the protagonist speaks of them with words like ‘jaw’ and ‘skin’, not ‘snout’ or ‘fur’. These beasts are not perfect creations, which means they eventually revert to their animal forms and behaviours, that’s why an arbitrary Law was imposed on them, dictating what they can’t do, and punishing them if it is broken. This way the author criticizes religion, as the rules are described as something the beastfolk (humans, figuratively speaking) can’t obey at all times (ev&oe it could also be interpreted as a critique of morality itself).
In addition, funnily enough the work shares an argument with Bagi, which deals with the dangers of unethical scientific experimentation.
