Then I will be serious-ish. The storytelling isn't always going to be everything you might have come in expecting. This is just how these artists and writers are. I think very frequently this stuff is a passion project for them. If you like it, if you pay money for it, that's a bonus. You should therefore not be surprised when you read something like this and it suddenly takes a left turn into Wacky Land like this. All you can really do is hope the artist gets back on track.
You sometimes hear people say "I don't like animated adaptations. The manga was so much better!" In some cases that's true. In some cases the animated adaptation bears very little resemblance to the manga at all. Sometimes it's because animated adaptations tend to be quick cash grabs, often animated with a script that's been bashed together to give a coherent story with a beginning, middle, and an end for a manga that's been getting drawn and published for a decade and is nowhere near any kind of conclusion. Lots of animated adaptations are phoned in. But sometimes the animated adaptation omits a lot of the original material because the artist decided to drop everything in favor of eleven straight issues of crossdressing fetish stuff. Buy the ticket, take the ride. I guess.
