I’m a genius for thinking this. Making Venus a somewhat livable planet is actually quite simple. All you would need to do is shield the planet from the sun using orbital mirrors or a giant shield at the Venus l1 point. The idea is to aim for a temperature of -80C (-112F). Now I know that sounds bad, but for comparison that’s about the temperature of Antarctica during the winter. The key aspect of this temperature range is CO2 freezes while gas such as oxygen and nitrogen does not. You would freeze the gay baby jail atmosphere into a layer of dry ice snow across the planet while allowing the gas you actually care about to exist. You would essentially turn the most inhospitable planet in the solar system to a slightly colder Antarctica, not great but a step up for sure.

Well, controlled fusion is coming along...slowly.  Still seems like the most promising avenue for research. It still pales in comparison to the effort required to pull terraforming off, now that's an enormous multi-generation endeavor that requires vision and patience. Welp, won't be seeing that any time soon; would be nice to at least long enough to watch a permanent Moon base to finally spring up.
