It's just another modern "boomer shooter" that needs modern hardware for pixel graphics for some unknown reason. I'd just stick with the classic boomer shooters if I was you.

The popular memes around it are totally wrong (fuck you Kemonofriendzone Rocky for getting a lainpilled Landian tranny to stream the sequel with you you fucking idiot, the namedrops of esoteric concepts and deities aren't the fucking point any more than they are in Neon Genesis Evangelion). The violence is not the point, it's not any more graphic than what Doek felt was necessary for the holistic aesthetic impression that he wanted to convey. It's not a guro fetish game, it's a straight shota incest game. Doekuramori's primary game influences were Marathon (2 is his favourite) and Outlaws by LucasArts, it's a game of abstract death mazes functioning on their own INTERNALLY CONSISTENT logic and rules, and firearms with novel, involved, mechanical operation; the game is notable for the latter aspect of its character being influenced by that game and airsoft guns, as opposed to real-world firearms and operator culture like Tarkov and the games further inspired by it are. The 2.5D 'sprites in 3D space' approach was not an arbitrary decision, he is not a modeller and did not have the time (money) to learn how to model to the standard of his 2D artwork, and it predates the "boomer shooter revival" cargo cult which took the concept in part from his games. Also because he likes Marathon and that is a series about navigation of complex 3D spaces with sprite NPCs and rudimentary polygonal tiling construction/scripting. Attached

i don't care about this game, but the word "marathon" caught my eye. i think marathon 2 is a bad game. marathon 1 & infinity are gooder. there are so many parts in marathon 2 where they literally teleport enemies on top of you. you spend the first 3rd of the game with no ammo savescumming. it's a bad game

It was a technical and conceptual leap which can't be properly understood without the original game, the impact of the jump from the levels of the original to these huge naturalistic mazes and great towers doesn't come across by just watching the Mexilore iPad toddler sleep-aid videos or whatever. I think that is what justifies the game's existence in face of the original (co-op too, I guess), the plot doesn't have nearly as much to say as the original beyond explicitly spelling out that which was always implicitly there, but it's still pleasant enough as Jones's and Kirkpatrick's more frivolous indulgence after wrapping up the self-contained story of the first. I don't remember any parts where I really struggled with 2 despite stepping up a difficulty level from 1, I played Infinity on Total Carnage and that three level run of vacuum levels felt like more of an imposition than all of the first two games combined, only that game really warrants the series's reputation of obtuse death mazes. Still remember a few nasty teleports and a close call with ammo from that one. Applying an objective lens of goodgamedesign to most old videogames is silly and anachronistic, there's not much point in playing them at all if one isn't willing to take them as products of their respective times, places, authors and sets of sensibilities. 2 may well feel like bullshit on TC, might revisit it like that someday.

It seems really fkn dumb. Devs really don't come across as interesting or thoughtful people in the interviews they've done for this game. Shovel Knight wasn't exactly brilliant but it made at least a little more sense in its time and the TIGsource milieu.

I played it, and beat it last night, and I really really enjoyed it
The gameplay is really great, and the visuals are awesome. Music is neat, but I don't think anything really stands out, and the story is decent. If you like the topdown 2D Zeldas at all (I do, that's pretty much the only reason I got the game, since it's clearly based on the GB Zeldas), I think you will really enjoy it
One big critique of the game I've been hearing is that it's really difficult, but I don't really get it. There's a few sections that are pretty hard, but nothing feels impossible or unfair. As long as you're exploring, finding items and leveling up, I don't think the game will feel that hard. (Maybe people are just so used to modern games being stupid easy so they can appeal to a larger demographic or something, that when they play a game with any actual challenge at all they cry about it lol) I will say that sometimes traversing the world can be a bit confusing, as you are not given a map, I had spent like an hour just trying to figure out how to get to the beach area in the game lol. If that sounds annoying to you, you can just look up a guide, I just prefer not to do that, I enjoy learning things myself.
The game took me about 18 hours to finish, though one could definitely beat it faster, I took my time and explored a lot. After you beat it you unlock newgame+, which so far just seems like a second playthrough

I have decided on two films I'd like to show, Kung Fu Panda and Space Jam

Start time will be Saturday (2026-06-06) at 8pm EST as usual, which is about 17 hours from this post.

For those who can't make the first film, Kung Fu Panda will be first, followed by Space Jam, which puts the start of Space Jam at around 10pm EST giving time for a 20-30 minute break after Kung Fu Panda. If anyone can only make the first or second film and is really set on watching one of these two, let me know and we can swap the order of movies around.

Yeah and I'll be back for it.

Also has Who Framed Roger Rabbit been streamed at a movie night yet?
Resuming space jam now, longer of a delay than intended

does anyone here know how to sew?
i wish to design and make my own plushies but idk where to start. are there any good books or maybe a youtube playlist that youd recommend that tells me what i need to know to start making one? also to establish a starting point i cant even sew a hole in a sock. anyway id hate to ask for a lot while contributing nothing so heres a little guy id like to make a doll of. i posted it on the chan a while back. ive drawn more bolds since then but none are quite as good.
oh yeah also if youve made a plush upload it here.

Do you have a sewing machine? Probably obtaining one and learning how to use one would be a good start. They can be really expensive though.

tldr it's not a simple endeavor and one way or another you will have to do your own research at some point

Honestly it's such a specialized skill that it's very unlikely to run into someone who has practical experience with handmade plushies outside of a place where sewers congregate like their subreddit or something.
I have a relative with decades of seamstress experience and she still at times gawks in awe at how high the quality/price ratio is for plushies, not because it is incomprehensible how each part is made, but how competent is all looks for how cheap the product is. Underpaid labor and mass production will do that.

Making anything that complex means you have to make blueprints, iterate measuring, cutting, fitting, adjusting again and again. You don't have to start from scratch and there's certainly tons of blueprints available online (much like in the day those Burda magazines used to have patterns for hot pants and whatnot enclosed) that get you halfway there but you still need to understand how to read them, how to make them and how to adjust them so that it looks like a kobold and not Kermit the Frog or whatever ends up being the closest match.
If you're willing to commit to making multiple plushies then the bad news is that you probably can't cut corners and freehand raggedy-dolls with nothing but a needle&thread and your old cargo shorts, but the go

Hell no, I understand that we want anthro games to succeed but the game was meh when it was alive and the game is currently completely dead and full of bots and cheaters.

Put your money into actually good anthro games like:

vividlope
gunfire reborn
Dust: an elysian tail
Friends vs friends
FUGA

I'm sure more anons will add more good anthro games to this list

dust is okay
the gameplay is decent. it feels wierd using the spinning jump but in a fun way
the main character designs are great but a bunch of the npcs not so much
the environments look gorgeous and i love all the ghoulish monster guys you can find in them
sound design is also really satisfying. so are the menus but i think thats just nostolgia for the style of the time
the plot is passable which is good since people might get upset if they thought the game was making a joke out of such a serious subject matter. like its okay but its rather predictable. it doesnt really say anything that hasnt already been said. i guess there is that one twist towards the end.
on the contrast the banter between the characters is great and i think its what most people remember the game for. its just a shame that you would be able to pluck out most of these interactions and place them down in a more interesting story with minimal changes required
also fidget bites people and is ebil, possibly more ebil than ebil kitsune

also to add to the list heres a decently fun arcade game
